It’s been a long time coming but WWE is finally coming back to the UK for a run of live shows.

The wrestling giant is returning to our shores for the first time since November 2019 after the coronavirus pandemic laid waste to plans for live tour in 2020.

In an announcement on Friday (June 25), the company announced: ‘WWE Live makes its epic return to the United Kingdom this Sept. 19-22.

‘Fans attending WWE Live will see their favourite WWE Superstars from SmackDown including Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Big E, Sasha Banks, Bayley, The Usos and more.’

The short run kicks off on Sunday, September 19 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, following by a stop at London’s O2 Arena the next night.

Then, the grappling action moves onto Cardiff at the Motorpoint Arena on September 21, with the tour wrapping up on September 22 at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.

Tickets are already on sale for the long-awaited shows, ranging from £25 up to £115 for the O2 arena date.

It’s been a long time coming for UK fans, as the stars were set to be here in April last year before the pandemic wreaked havoc on those plans.

Similarly, the NXT UK brand was poised for TakeOver Dublin, which was eventually cancelled earlier this year after a number of delays.

The latest announcement comes as WWE is preparing to welcome back fans in the United States, with SmackDown on July 16 marking the return after over a year of shows at either the Performance Center or the ThunderDome.

That weekend’s pay-per-view Money In The Bank will be the first pay-per-view with a live crowd since Elimination Chamber in February 2020, with all eyes on SummerSlam in August when WWE takes over the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
