Bellator 261 main event: Timothy Johnson vs Valentin Moldavsky

Moldavsky entered the arena with an entrance song numbered by Polina Gagarina. Titled, “Kukushka.” He entered the fight on the back of 5 straight wins.

Meanwhile, Johnson entered with “Blaze of Glory” by Bon Jovi. The American came into the fight on the back of 3 straight wins.

Moldavsky and Johnson collided in the main event for the interim heavyweight title. The latter’s striking prowess was an enormous threat for Moldavsky to counter. But he somehow negated those brutal shots.

He used his swiftness to drag Johnson away from a straight brawl on his feet and ultimately won via unanimous decision to capture the interim heavyweight title.

Liz Carmouche vs Kana Watanabe

Carmouche entered the arena accompanied by Benny Benassi’s famous song number, “Satisfaction“. ‘Girl-Rill’ debuted for Bellator last year after her last match against Valentina Shevchenko in UFC ended in a loss. She fought Watanabe in a flyweight title eliminator.

The match was a brief one as the former UFC fighter destroyed Watanabe en route to a 35 second TKO win. The win also made her a strong contender for the flyweight gold.

Daniel Weichel vs Keoni Diggs

Former two-time featherweight title challenger Weichel entered his bout against Diggs with a song sung by Drake. Titled, “Started From The Bottom“.

The veteran of 53 fights entered his match against Diggs on the back of a loss last time around. Meanwhile, Diggs used an iconic song from FIJI titled “Glory Of Love“.

The match was a close affair as both men traded equal blows throughout their 3 round encounter. In the end, Weichel narrowly escaped defeat via a split decision win.
