Ferrari Didn’t Meet Expectations at Styrian GP Qualifying: Charles Leclerc

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is feeling disappointed after his qualifying finish at the Styrian Grand Prix. The Monégasque did manage to get into the third round of qualifying but found himself in seventh place on the timesheet.

However, Leclerc feels the team has the pace to make the difference on Sunday’s race and is hoping to score some good points at the Red Bull Ring this weekend.

Charles Leclerc is disappointed with seventh but remains optimistic about the pace

Speaking after the quali session, Leclerc said, “Well, I expected more than a P7, but on the other hand the race pace was very very good yesterday. So, we didn’t want to sacrifice the race pace to bet better in qualifying today.

“P7 was I think the best result, we could do today and, yeah we will go from there tomorrow,” Leclerc explained.

Can Leclerc step up tomorrow for the Scuderia in Austria?

The #16 driver seemed to have been struggling in the first two practice sessions at the Red Bull Ring. As he found himself in tenth place in FP1 and fell down to thirteenth in FP2.

However, he did improve his time in the final practice session, but not as much as he wanted to as he came seventh on the timesheet. And, later in the day, he found himself in the same place after the final round of qualifying.

The 23-year-old is hoping to bring his A-game for tomorrow’s race and is hoping to gain some positions as the race progress. He remains optimistic about earning some good points for the Maranello-based team as they fight to get ahead in the Constructors’ Championship.
