Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles make up after falling out over Supernatural prequel: ‘Things are good’
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have made up following their beef over the Supernatural prequel series, insisting that ‘things are good’ between them.
It was recently announced that Jensen and his wife Danneel Ackles, who had a recurring role on the fantasy show, were developing a prequel series called The Winchesters, based on the parents of Dean and Sam Winchester, who he and Jared played respectively.
Following the announcement, Jared, 38, took to Twitter to reveal that not only was he not involved in the project, but he hadn’t heard about it, saying he was ‘gutted’ and ‘bummed’.
After issuing a plea to his followers not to send ‘any hate or threats’ as he cares ‘deeply about everyone involved’, Jared has since shared a new update, revealing that he and Jensen had a ‘great talk’ over the dispute.
‘@JensenAckles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good,’ he tweeted.
‘The show is early in the process with miles to go. We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don’t stop us. Once brothers, always brothers. #spnfamily.’
Jensen, 43, followed up by responding to Jared’s tweet, his first time speaking out over the awkward incident.
‘Love you @jarpad … Miss these talks. I forgot how much face time we always used to get. And I miss that too. I know you’re busy…as am I, but you’re still my brother. I miss you, pal,’ he wrote.
Whether this could mean that Jared is brought in to take part in the prequel series remains to be seen.
In his original tweet, the Walker star responded to Jensen sharing a news article about the spin-off show.
‘Dude. Happy for you. Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter,’ Jared stated.
‘I’m excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever.’
In response to a fan who thought it was a joke, he added: ‘No. It’s not. This is the first I’ve heard about it. I’m gutted.’
Later on, the actor thanked his fans ‘for the love’, while also requesting that they not spew any hate online.
‘Please PLEASE don’t send any hate or threats,’ he urged.
‘I care deeply about everybody involved and would be in true misery if any of them were harmed or threatened.’
Jared and Jensen starred on Supernatural together from 2005 to 2020, playing brothers who embarked on missions to hunt monstrous creatures.
Supernatural is available to rent on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
