Too Hot to Handle star Melinda Melrose has made a big impact on the latest season of the Netflix show so far – but things nearly worked out very differently indeed.

The reality star has opened up about her experiences and admitted that she was totally unprepared to star on the show, coming very close to quitting.

Like the rest of the cast, Melinda, who is a model, was not told about the real nature of the show before the cameras rolled and she ‘panicked’ after the truth was revealed.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Melinda revealed she came very close to heading home on the first day of the shoot.

‘I had not one slightest clue in the book. None,’ she said. ‘I was like, “Oh yeah. we’re going to be on a yacht. We’re going to party. I see a boat. This hot guy.”

‘This cone, she came out of the God damned table, with fog, and I’m just like, “Alright, this is not happening. I know exactly what this is.”’

Melinda added: ‘The moment I saw that cone, because I watched season one, I went, “Oh hell no.” I was panicking. I was like, “Yeah, I’m going to go, I’m going to pack my bags real quick. I’m going to go. And leave.’”’

The model also said she struggled with the no touching rule.

‘I was contemplating whether to do the show or not because I know how I am. I’m a big flirter, so I was like this is going to be a challenge for me.

‘But I like a challenge and I was actually excited to go along with the process,’ she added.

The dating show with a very big difference was released on the streaming platform on Wednesday, and sees singletons living it up in swanky villa while also splitting a mouth-watering $100,000 (£71,000) cash prize.

The catch is that they have to refrain from having any intimate contact with each other for the duration of their stay, with each rule break resulting in the cash prize dropping.

It comes after Too Hot To Handle viewers were left raging at Cam as the first episodes of season two dropped on Netflix, as he cost the contestants nearly £1,500 over his act of self-love.

Too Hot to Handle is available to stream on Netflix.
