“We Own the Track”: Max Verstappen Jokes About Red Bull F1 Sneakily Influencing Styrian GP

Saturday’s qualifying session saw Max Verstappen take pole position for tomorrow’s race. However, the forecast for Sunday predicts rain hence, the Dutchman is hoping to have an influence on the weather in a way that favors him.

The Dutchman is hoping to keep the two Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton behind, as he hopes to see the chequered flag first place. But with rain being expected at the Red Bull Ring, Verstappen is up for the challenge.

After the quali session, being asked his thoughts on tomorrow’s forecast, Verstappen replied, “Yeah of course we own the track, so influence the weather around here.”

Being asked if he would like rain tomorrow, Max replied, “I don’t mind, to be honest, both is fine.”

Can Max bring a home victory for Red Bull?

The eighth round of the championship takes us to the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the team’s home race. With pole position already being achieved by the Dutchman, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit feels confident about the Styrian Grand Prix.

The last visit to the venue, by Verstappen, saw him finish in third place, while his rival, Lewis Hamilton, won the race. However, this time the 23-year-old wants things to be different, as he will start the race pole position and is hoping to gift Red Bull a win in their home race this weekend.
