Barring US Open last year, the Serbian star is on a roll after winning the first two grand slams of 2021. Heading into the Wimbledon which starts from tomorrow, there is no doubt in saying that Djokovic is the clear favorite to win the coveted title.
A single debate that piques the interest of every tennis fan around the world is -” Who will end up as the GOAT amongst Nadal, Federer and Djokovic?”
Well, many fans believe that we will have to wait till the end of their careers to decide who is the greatest among them. But, a fair portion admirers believe that if the Serb can win the golden slam(winning all four majors along with the Olympic gold medal), he will have all the rights to be called the GOAT.
Marion Bartoli believes that Novak Djokovic is ahead in the GOAT race
Talking about the same, former Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli expressed the importance of grand slam titles in the GOAT debate.
“I think if Novak goes to 21 after winning every single Grand Slam twice, you can absolutely crown him as the GOAT”, opined Bartoli.

With the form that he is in, it appears that there is no stopping Novak Djokovic on the ATP tour. Even though there are players like Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev, who can give a tough fight to the Serb, their records on grass aren’t favorable enough to beat the champion.
However, Medvedev is one player who enters SW19 with a winning momentum. The Russian won the Mallorca Championships recently and even admitted that he is slowly finding his feet on grass.
While the threat of Roger Federer still looms at large for Djokovic, the Swiss Maestro’s worrying form in the recent times doesn’t give him an edge over the 19-time grand slam champion.
If Djokovic wins Wimbledon this year, more attention and anticipation awaits the US Open as it promises a blockbuster affair involving the Big-3 and the next-gen players.
