What did Stephen Thompson’s fight purse look like?

UFC 205 was the UFC’s first-ever appearance in New York after being banned from the State for many years. Not to mention, the organization pulled up in the mecca of combat sports, Madison Square Garden for a historic card. The fighters on the card received a lot of shine, and the pay-outs for the marquee names were quite significant.

Per MMA Salaries, Stephen Thompson walked away with $460,000 for his draw against Tyron Woodley at UFC 205. His base salary was $380,000 to show, and he also snagged the $50,000 bonus check for ‘Fight of the Night’. The Reebok Deal also netted Stephen Thompson an additional $30,000 as sponsorship money.

Thompson was one of the highest-paid fighters on the card, being edged only by Tyron Woodley, Eddie Alvarez, and Conor McGregor. However, it’s impossible to come out on top in a Conor McGregor headlined card. Thompson has since topped the aforementioned pay in his recent main event match-up against Geoff Neal.

UFC 205 will go down as one of the most historic events in combat sports and it’s easy to see why. Looking back, it was arguably one of the most stacked shows that fans fondly reminisce about the event even today.
