Love Island 2021: Jake Cornish worried about what he’ll say in villa: ‘I do things in the heat of the moment’

Love Island star Jake Cornish has admitted he’s a little worried about what he might say and do in the villa, teasing that we could have a wildcard on our hands.

We’re getting the popcorn immediately.

The 24-year-old is preparing to set foot in the Majorca villa and revealed to Metro.co.uk that his one fear is ‘making a t*t out of himself’.

‘I don’t really think, d’you know what I mean? I just do things in the heat of the moment, like “Why did I say that?!” The things that come out of my mouth sometimes don’t even make sense.

‘So probably making a t*t out of myself, if anything!’

Of course, in the past, plenty of lads have got themselves in a spot of trouble for the things they’ve said (lest we forget Tom Walker’s infamous comment to Maura Higgins), so here’s hoping Jake’s on his best behaviour.

Nevertheless, the West Country lad, who recently got out of a seven-year relationship, said he’s ‘very confident’ ahead of going into the villa.

As for whether he’s planning to have sex on the show, Jake’s ruling nothing out.

‘Everything happens for a reason!’ he reflected. ‘So if it was to happen, it would happen, if it wouldn’t, it wouldn’t. I wouldn’t lose any sleep. It is what it is, at the end of the day. I haven’t really thought about it because I can’t say, “I’m going to do this in five weeks’ time”, “I’m going to do this in 10 weeks’ time.”‘

Meanwhile, Water Engineer Jake admitted there’s one past islander who he had his eye on when watching the show.

‘I’ve always gone for blonde hair and blue eyes. The way Molly-Mae [Hague] was, that was a bit of me. She was very honest, like a lady. I like a lady. Very respectful.’

Jake is joining the likes of Hugo Hammond, Aaron Francis, and Shannon Singh in the villa, and is ready to enjoy himself after his split.

‘Looks wise, always gone for blondes. But for me, the main thing is having respect and having good fun, and someone who will be loyal to you. I’ve had messages from girls that have got boyfriends and husbands,’ he previously said.

‘This is why I don’t trust anyone. Someone who is loyal really. But when I’m single, I like having a good time!’

Love Island begins on ITV2 on June 28 at 9pm.
