Gervonta Davis amassed wide attention from fans and fighters around the globe with his sublime performance against Mario Barrios. He put on a performance worth remembering and showed his true class in this enigmatic tussle. Moreover, Davis’s idol and mentor, Floyd Mayweather, was ringside for this fight, and the young gun truly employed all of his learnings in this battle.

But midway through the fight, Mayweather came to Davis’s corner and gave him a piece of advice. He said, “On the unofficial (scorecard), you’re down. I gotta be honest with you.”

This advice helped Davis buck up in the fight and eventually be on the driver’s seat. Barrios, the underdog in this fight fared extremely well in the initial and he even gave a stern test to ‘Tank’. However, the latter was a step ahead, and he began his assault from the very first round.

But as the fight moved ahead, Davis became a bit slow and Mayweather cited an opportunity there to go and share an honest opinion with ‘Tank’. That said, ‘Pretty Boy’s piece of advice worked wonders for the young force and post then he took full control of the fight, thus annihilating Barrios to the pulp.

This was the most special win for Gervonta Davis as he performed so well in front of his idol, Floyd Mayweather. He shook the entire boxing fraternity by going, all guns blazing against ‘E’ Azteca’ and consequently finishing him in round 11 of the fight.
