VIDEO: Gervonta Davis Destroys Mario Barrios to Become a Three-Division Champion

Gervonta Davis had another big win added to his resume, as he vanquished the unbeaten Mario Barrios to claim the WBA super lightweight title via stoppage. Now a three-division champion, ‘Tank’ is 25-0 as a professional pugilist and can aim to defend his belt in multiple weight classes.

That said, Davis beat several odds tonight to walk out unbeaten between the two contenders. Although Barrios could test him to the core, Davis’ impeccable power and the pace became too much to handle for ‘El Azteca’.  Barrios had contracted some of the most brutal shots in the fight and could offer the same from his end.

While the concluding rounds saw him get curbed, Mario Barrios expressed his interest in continuing the fight. However, Gervonta Davis had already planted his best shots, and it left very little lifeline in the matchup in Barrios’ favor. So, the referee rightly intervened and called off the fight. Gervonta Davis vs Mario Barrios- An Epic title fight

Mario Barrios could successfully go deep with Davis in the fight. He even had his moments where the firmer champion battered Davis. Besides, Barrios also used his reach in round eight and hit Gervonta Davis will some nasty shots. However ‘Tank’ was in no mood to quit. He made a few adjustments and returned stronger into the mix.

Gervonta Davis also seemed hungrier as the fight went deeper. He shot the punches with bad intentions and on connecting, we could see Barrios suffer the damage.
