Coronation Street legend decides to leave the cobbles after almost dying

Gail Platt will suffer a heart attack this week in scenes available to watch on ITV Hub.
And she will decide it’s time she leaves Weatherfield – for a while at least.
The stalwart – who has been played by actress Helen Worth for 47 years – is rushed to hospital after the bickering between her children becomes too much.
Viewers will see her caught between Nick and David as they row over David’s plan to reunite Nick with his son Sam.

He tricks Gail into bringing Sam to the house – despite him being banned by his mum Natasha after the shooting incident.
The stress leaves Gail weak – but when Nick blames her for the mess, she’s furious.
Storming outside Gail suddenly feels weak and panicked.
Sam finds her and realises she’s having a heart attack – and rushes in to tell his dad.

Unfortunately they are too busy arguing and Sam has to shout at them to get them to rush outside.
Begging for her mum, Gail is rushed to hospital in an ambulance.
She bans her children from seeing her and later her mum Audrey rips them all a new one.
