How Much Did Bubba Watson Win at the 2021 Travelers Championship?

How good was the final round at the Travelers Championship? Harris English and Kramer Hickok took it down to the wire and required eight playoff holes to determine an outright champion. While these two enjoyed the spotlight, Bubba Watson, who started the final round as the joint-leader was nowhere to be seen. So how much did Watson take home after the Travelers Championship?

Bubba Watson and Kramer Hickok were the joint 54-hole leaders heading into the final round at the Travelers Championship. While the latter played well on Sunday, Watson uncharacteristically broke down on the front nine.

Prize Money share for Bubba Watson at the 2021 Travelers Championship

Had he won, Bubba Watson would’ve tied Billy Casper with most Travelers Championship victories (four). However, luck wasn’t by his side as Watson shot a final round 73 that sent him down the leaderboard.

Bubba Watson eventually finished T19 at the Travelers Championship. He was in the spotlight the entire week, but a Sunday disaster deprived him of a first PGA Tour win since 2018.

Seven players finished T19  at the Travelers Championship, including Bryson DeChambeau. All the golfers received the same payout for their efforts.

So, Bubba Watson and the six other players at T19 received a payout of $87,690 at TPC River Highlands. Not the prize money he would’ve wanted, but Watson had earlier mentioned that anything within T25 is a good effort according to him.

Watson is currently on a three-year winless drought on the PGA Tour. His most recent victory came at the 2018 Travelers Championship and the two-time Masters winner is desperately looking to get back on the winner’s podium.

Driving accuracy seemed to be the letdown in the final round

Bubba Watson just needed to add a few more birdies to his pre-existing tournament score of 10-under heading into the final round. But he ended up with a score of 7-under for the tournament after Sunday. Everything went wrong.

The first one was Watson’s driving prowess. It wasn’t upto the mark as he only displayed 57.14% driving accuracy and made (8/14) fairways in Round 4. Watson committed four bogeys in the final round. He had only made only five in the other three rounds combined.
