Love Island 2021 is finally underway… and we have our first official couples of the series!

The new series of the ITV2 reality dating competition has had a soaring start, with fans ecstatic that the summer of hot and steamy love has begun.

After the first five female islanders arrived in the villa, the boys then turned up one by one, with presenter Laura Whitmore hosting the very first coupling ceremony of the show.

First down the stairs was Jake Cornish, who matched up with Liberty Poole after she was the only one to step forward for him.

Second up was the uber confident Aaron Francis, who had two contestants reveal they were attracted to him – Kaz Kamwi and Faye Winter.

Awkwardly, Aaron didn’t go for either Kaz or Faye, choosing to couple up with Shannon Singh instead.

Hugo Hammond became the first of the boys not to have any of the girls step forward for him, telling Laura that he’s going to try his best to turn their heads.

He decided to couple up with Faye, saying he felt drawn to her immediately.

Toby Aromolaran, who revealed that he’s never been in a relationship, prompted several ‘aaws’ from the ladies… but none of them stepped forward for him.

So Toby decided to follow his instinct, pairing up with Faye and leaving Hugo on the sidelines.

Brad McClelland became the fifth guy to make his entrance, sparking the strongest reaction from the ladies, as Liberty, Sharon Gaffka and Faye all stepped forward for him – despite Liberty and Faye already being coupled up.

Brad went with Faye, kicking Toby off the line-up to join Hugo on the sun loungers.

Laura gave Hugo another chance to choose an islander to couple up with, with the PE teacher choosing Sharon.

This left Toby to couple up with Kaz, becoming the final pair of the first coupling ceremony.

So there we have it! After a few switcheroos, here are the first official couples of Love Island 2021:

However, the islanders’ time in paradise is going to hit a massive road bump when Chloe Burrows makes her highly-anticipated arrival.
