Love Island fans reckon villa furniture cheekily resembles sex toy

Love Island fans reckon a particular piece of furniture in the villa’s living room resembles a popular sex toy and, to be fair, they have a point.

The dating show is finally returning tonight after over a year off-screen, with the last series airing in early 2020.

This year’s run also sees the action return to Majorca, with the 2020 winter series having been filmed in South Africa.

Ahead of the broadcast of the first episode of 2021, Love Island bosses have teased the new look of the Majorcan villa – with a revamped bedroom, bathroom, terrace and firepit.

The living room notably features two giant stools in the shape of bunnies situated near a set of sofas – and some fans think they look awfully similar to the Rampant Rabbit sex toy sold by Ann Summers.

After images of the new villa were shared on the official Love Island Reddit page, one pointed out: ‘Is it just me or do those bunnies look like something else.’

‘The décor has never been this sexualised,’ another flagged.

Another cheekily remarked: ‘Okay but there will def be people riding those bunnies.’

If that wasn’t enough, there are also plenty of suggestive-looking images plastered across the walls of the bedroom, featuring peeled bananas and aubergines. And we all know what the aubergine emoji represents.

And the hideaway, where contestants can go to get some privacy from the rest of the group, has been given a sexy new makeover, boasting new secret drawers.

The cast for this year’s series has been pictured in the villa ahead of tonight’s launch, showing islanders Shannon Singh, Faye Winter, Kaz Kamwi, Sharon Gaffka and Liberty Poole standing by the pool in their bikinis.

The sixth girl in the lineup, Chloe Burrows, was absent from the snaps, suggesting she could be a late arrival.

Photos also showed presenter Laura Whitmore introducing each boy one by one to the boys, as they gear up for the first coupling of the series.

Spoilers from the launch have also revealed that the islanders will play a game of dares once they’ve been paired up – and you can expect plenty of toe-sucking and snogging.

Bring it on.

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
