Manny Pacquiao Rubbishes $3.3 Million Lawsuit: ‘I Will Be Proven Correct in the Court’

Manny Pacquiao is not ready to accept the accusations filed by Paradigm Sports. Although Paradigm Sports’ Audie Attar has reportedly filed a lawsuit to recoup $3.3 million, Pacquiao seems optimistic about his chances in court. The 42-year-old, who is now aiming for a fight against Errol Spence Jr., doesn’t see it falling apart.

That said, the recent lawsuit may disrupt the Pacquiao vs Spence Jr welterweight title bout. The Athletic broke the news and disheartened several fans. However, Manny Pacquiao’s statements might have brought a lifeline to his in-ring return.

Lange Pugmire took to Twitter and revealed the statement where ‘Pac-Man’ claimed, “Paradigm’ Sports lawsuit against me has no merit. I have an absolute right under the agreement with Paradigm to engage in the upcoming bout with Errol Spence. If this frivolous lawsuit continues, I will be proven correct in the court.”

According to reports, Paradigm Sports wanted Manny Pacquiao to go against four-division champion Mikey Garcia on his return. A multi-fight deal between Pacquiao and DAZN followed it. However, the Filipino veteran chose to face Errol Spence Jr. from PBC. As this didn’t seem to sit well with Audie Attar and Paradigm Sports, they took legal action against the Senator of the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao and Paradigm Sports joined hands in 2020 and planned to stage some absolute blockbusters together. However, the ongoing scenario may urge them to split ways.

Will Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr happen?

As of now, the world welterweight title fight between ‘Pac-Man and ‘The Truth’ is officially scheduled for August 21. Following his last fight in 2019, Pacquiao will end a two-year-long hiatus. If he wins the bout, Pacquiao will again be a world champion. Furthermore, he will be the first man to beat Errol Spence Jr.

Hence, the whole boxing universe is eagerly awaiting the sensational welterweight thriller. Nevertheless, the contractual works can still play spoilsport. Thus, the return of Manny Pacquiao seems bleak at this point, especially after the filing of a lawsuit.
