Matthew Wright has slammed Matt Hancock on This Morning for having an affair with his closest aide during lockdown.
Married Mr Hancock, 42, was caught on CCTV embracing millionaire lobbyist Gina Coladangelo, 43, who he hired as an unpaid advisor in March last year.
The Health Secretary was forced to resign after the leaked video of him and Ms Coladangelo captured on camera was passed to The Sun newspaper.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Matthew slammed Mr Hancock for not only cheating on his wife but also breaking lockdown rules that he had imposed.
‘I think he comes across as a bit of a weasel, Matt Hancock,’ Matthew said on the programme.
‘I watched Trevor Phillips interviewing Brandon Lewis on the weekend describing how he couldn’t go to his daughter’s funeral and 300 people had to watch on Zoom, while he’s [Matt] carrying on with a married woman behind his wife’s back.

‘The clear anger that people like Trevor Phillips feel, whose lives, all of our lives, have been affected by Covid, something so massive and important like your daughter’s funeral, I feel angry about it, I’ve seen a lot of people on social media who feel very angry about it.’
Matthew questioned whether the conservatives had their priorities straight in the aftermath of the video being leaked.
He continued: ‘It seems like the Tories seem more interested in who the whistleblower is who identified Matt Hancock as a sleazy cheat than they are addressing the issues concerning it, how was this allowed to carry on?’
The panel also slammed politicians for not following lockdown rules (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock)
Holly said the problem was that there seemed to be ‘one rule for them and one rule for us’.
Julia Hartley-Brewer agreed, saying there was a different rule for the politicians compared to the general public.
‘Looking at [Matt’s statement] video, there was no “I’m sorry I made a mistake” but a “sorry that I’ve been caught”. I don’t think many ministers thought that they had CCTV cameras in their office otherwise there wouldn’t be as much bottom grabbing or kissing going on,’ she explained.

The radio presenter went on to slam politicians for not following social distancing protocols that have been set out by the government.
‘No one’s social distancing and no one’s worn a mask for a year. What it tells us is, not that they think that they’re above us, it’s actually that a lot of the restrictions on our own lives, not least weddings, funerals, grandparents seeing their grandchildren and travel restrictions, is that they don’t seem to think it’s very necessary unless they’re applying to somebody else,’ she said.

‘That’s quite sinister, there are all of these rules that apply to us every day but they don’t seem to think either applies to them or necessary so why do we have them in place still.
‘What it tells us that a lot of restrictions that we’ve had on our lives is that they don’t think those rules are necessary unless they apply to us.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
