Andre Ward Feels ‘Out of Character’ Deontay Wilder Does Not Have a Better Chance Against Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder is finally on the brink of battling his arch-foe, Tyson Fury, for the third time. He will face the Brit on July 24 in a high-class 12-round boxing war. This fight is one career-defining bout for Wilder and he is keen to put on a show in the biggest fight of his life. That said, this contest has gained wide attention from fans and fighters around the world and everyone is keen to see how the ex-WBC heavyweight champ fares in this fight.

Lately, Andre Ward was in a chat with FightHype. He gave an honest take on Wilder’s chances against ‘The Gypsy King’ in this trilogy.

“You know Wilder is out of character in a sense that he’s not his normal self, right? But we gotta see this dude tactic.

“I don’t think he has a better chance. I think he’s got the chance he always had. He’s dangerous but I think he’s always gonna be dangerous but I think in this fight, he’s gonna be dangerous in a different kind of way. Just because of the circumstances, he’s got a lot to prove,” he said.

Wilder and Fury confronted each other for the first time in 2018, wherein their contest ended in a tragic draw. Post then, the duo were eager to rematch each other, and in February 2020; they took up the ring space to finally settle on one winner.

This rematch was all about Tyson Fury hammering Wilder. ‘The Gypsy King’ annihilated the Alabama native to the pulp and finally T/KO’ed him in round 7 of the fight. Since then, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has shown significant interest in taking on Fury again and now he’s in for the sternest test of his career.

Can Deontay Wilder turn the tide in his favor this time?

Ever since his trilogy with Fury got announced, Wilder put himself through some stringent boxing routines. He still is in some cosmic preparations for this bout and is ready to roar inside the ring on July 24.
