Andy Murray Jokes Regarding Roger Federer’s Opinion on Swiss Football Team Winning Euro 2020

Switzerland national team generated the biggest upset at the European Championships, as they beat France. The Swiss players beat the French World Cup winner, 5-4 on penalties after the drawing 3-3 in extra time. The Switzerland team received praise from all around the world, as Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic applauded them as well. Andy Murray had his say on the Swiss National football team.

However, Andy Murray is back with his witty tweets. In an apparent group picture, LTA asked people to tweet their replies, as Roger Federer and Andy Murray are sitting together. Murray did not waste any time in stealing the limelight, and tweeted about Federer’s words. The Swiss maestro will have to follow the footsteps of his National football team, at the Wimbledon Championships.

Andy Murray and Roger Federer at Wimbledon Championships 2021

Andy Murray had to work hard for his first round win at SW19. The Scott went to the cusp of a defeat, as he was struggling to find form. The former World No1 won his first two games against Nikoloz Basilashvili, as he won the first two sets 6-4, 6-3. However, Murray was put under the bus, when he was leading 5-0 in the third set, and Nikoloz planned on switching gears. The Georgian won seven games in a row, to win the third set  7-5. However, Murray prevented another upset on Day1, as he won the fourth set 6-3.

Roger Federer will be playing his first round match today, against Adrian Mannarino of France. The Swiss star is expected to have a long run, as this might be his last chance to win a slam. However, the age factor and injuries will not be on his side.

The comeback of Murray and Federer

Andy Murray and Roger Federer are somewhat making a comeback with Wimbledon Championships 2021. Murray is playing after three years, at the Wimbledon grass courts. Roger will be looking to avenge his 2019 finals loss, against Novak Djokovic.

The two players have won numerous grass court titles. Murray has won two Wimbledon titles, whereas Federer already has a record eight Wimbledon titles. It will be a test of time and strength for the two former World No1s as they battle it out on the court.

Andy Murray will be playing either Oscar Otte or Arthur Rinderknech, on Wednesday, for his second round match.
