Dallas Cowboys Legend DeMarcus Ware Compares Micah Parsons to the Likes of Sean Lee & Brian Urlacher

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled on the defensive end over the past few years. But their deficiencies were laid bare for all to see last season when the side allowed a franchise-record 473 points.

Ranked 28th out of 32 teams for points conceded, the Cowboys knew that serious reinforcements were needed on the defensive front. And that they did by going all out in the draft.

Out of the 11 picks available to the franchise in the 2021 NFL Draft, the side used eight of them on defensive players. And the Cowboys left the NFL Draft with their most valuable asset being Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons was a phenomenon in the college circuit. Being named the All-Big Ten, All-American, Conference Linebacker of the Year, the Penn State graduate also won the MVP award at the Cotton Bowl.

With big things expected from in a Cowboys uniform, franchise legend DeMarcus Ware recently gave his first impressions of the linebacker.

Micah Parson a mix of multiple Dallas Cowboys legends

During a segment of Blogging the Boys, Ware was asked about his initial impressions about Parsons and whether the young linebacker reminded him of any player from his playing time.

While answering the question, Ware couldn’t pick out one player to compare Parsons to. Instead, the former Cowboys linebacker himself took the name of multiple NFL players from the past to describe Micah Parsons.

“I think it has to be a couple of guys. I look at him as like a Brian Urlacher type guy that can rush the passer. And then a thumper like Zach Thomas and Brady James.

And then a coverage guy like Shawn Lee. If you can mix all those guys. That’s what you get with Parsons,” said Ware.

Ware himself was a premier linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys back in the day. A nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, DeMarcus Ware’s legacy will long be remembered in the city of Dallas.

And Cowboys fans will be hopeful that their rookie linebacker can follow in the footsteps of his predecessor and put on rack up All-Pro appearances himself over the years to come.
