Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the ‘biggest disaster’ he experienced on his farm amid the reported renewal of his hit show Clarkson’s Farm for season 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
Following his stints on high-octane shows including Top Gear and The Grand Tour, it came as a huge surprise to TV viewers when Jeremy decided to abandon his luxurious London life to run a 1,000 acre farm in the Cotswolds, swapping cars for cow patches.
The show has been a huge success, with Jeremy admitting his shock over the positive reaction.
However, running a farm is no easy feat, with the TV presenter recalling the ‘biggest disaster’ he suffered when he tried – and failed – to launch several very expensive projects on the land.
The 61-year-old explained that over the past 18 months, he has ‘peppered the farm with many new and exciting money-spinning projects, and then watched in horror as almost all of them ended in expensive failure’.
Writing for The Times, Jeremy said that of all of his endeavours, attempting to grow wasabi was ‘by far’ his most significant disappointment.

‘Wasabi? This was by far my biggest disaster. I noted the fact that only one chap in all of Britain was growing it and saw this as an opportunity rather than a warning that it might be impossible,’ he said.
‘It isn’t, if you really pay attention, round the clock, but I couldn’t do that because I had potatoes to sell and fish to save and wheat and barley and rape to grow, and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? to host and The Grand Tour to write, and when I did get five minutes to go and check on the “green gold”, I remembered that I had to write a newspaper column.’
So basically, the message of the story is: if you have a lot on your plate, don’t try to grow wasabi!
It was recently reported in The Sun that season 2 of Clarkson’s Farm had been confirmed, with a source stating: ‘Jeremy is Amazon’s golden boy and a new series is already in the pipeline.’

‘It’s rated five stars on Amazon and has a 9.3 rating on IMDB, which is practically unheard of,’ they said.
They added that the farmers who join Jeremy on the programme – Kaleb, ‘Cheerful’ Charlie and Gerald – would also be returning.
