Martin Lewis tells horrific story of being sworn at in front of his three year old daughter

Martin Lewis has recalled the ‘intimidating’ moment a stranger swore and shouted at him on the street while he was with his daughter.
Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain saw Martin and co-host Susanna Reid discuss the shocking footage of Professor Chris Whitty being manhandled by a group of men while walking through St James’ Park, London.
Martin shared a similar experience he had endured when he politely declined to stop and chat to a viewer while taking his daughter Sapphire, who was three-years-old at the time, to the park.
The man started swearing at him and even walked after him down the street when the presenter tried to move away.
The money saving expert said on the programme: ‘She was on my shoulders and I was walking along the road with her. A man came up to me and he says, “You’re the money guy, aren’t you?” and I said, with a smile “Not today. I’m Daddy.” I’ve got my little girl and she gets very scared when people that we don’t know approach.
‘He says, “Well I just wanna ask you a question” and I said “I’m so sorry I’m on my way to the playground I really can’t do this right now. She gets a little bit intimidated.”

‘He started calling me a name that begins with a C and he followed me down the road shouting at me “You are…” while my three-year-old is on my shoulders. And, “You’re nothing like you are on the telly, you’re all pretend” and walked down the road with me.’
Martin added: ‘I’m normally always happy to do it when people come and talk to me on the street. I always smile and answer a question unless I’m in a rush. I’m always polite but my little girl gets very scared.

The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident involving Professor WHitty, and said officers spoke to all those involved and took their details.
The actions of the men in the video were condemned by vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi and Labour MP Jess Phillips who issued a reminder that public figures ‘are human beings’.
