‘New Challenges’ Awaiting Aston Martin F1 at Austrian GP: Sebastian Vettel
Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel had a lackluster race weekend at Styrian Grand Prix. The German only qualified at P14 and finished the race two places ahead at P12.
Vettel was well aware after qualifying fourteenth it will be an uphill task to finish in the top 10. Furthermore, things go from bad to worse as he struggled with traffic and tire degradation, which hampered his whole race. As a result, German whose run of three consecutive races in the points ended.
With Red Bull Ring to host successive race weekends, Vettel will head to the second race this weekend on a back foot. However, the German driver is optimistic and will hope to bounce back and score some points at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The German driver admits that the midfield battle was extremely close at Styrian GP and expects the same this weekend.
“It was a tricky race last time out, but that means we now know where we can make improvements to fight for points in the Austrian Grand Prix.” said the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

“While we’re racing at the same venue again, there are some new challenges, such as the one-step softer Pirelli tyre range. The midfield battle was so extremely close last weekend, and it will be again, so every lap of preparation counts.”
Sebastian Vettel has already finished ahead of the reigning champion Lewis Hamilton on two occasions this season. In addition, the four-time world champion has also secured a couple of drivers of the day award at Monaco and Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Vettel currently sits at P10 in the drivers’ standings, four points behind Daniel Ricciardo who replaced him at Red Bull in 2014. The German will hope to add some points to his championship tally this weekend.
