FANS of The View had questions about panelist Whoopi Goldberg’s disappearance after she did not appear on the show for a week.

The actress and host said that she was dealing with health complications.

What happened to Whoopi Goldberg?

Whoopi revealed on The View that she took time off for recovery after suffering from sciatica.

“Yes, it’s me, I’m back,” she said on the show.

“I was out because I was dealing with something called sciatica, which is basically a bulging disc in your back and it impacts the sciatic nerve, which sends pain down your leg. I’m telling you, it’s like a bad boyfriend … a  bad boyfriend who came back to mess with me.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, sciatica most commonly occurs when a herniated disk, bone spur on the spine or narrowing of the spine compresses part of the nerve.

“There I was, trying to move my leg – impossible to do,” she continued. “It was really horrible. But I’m glad to be here.”

Goldberg said she now has to use a walker to get around.

“I have a walker, which kind of freaked me out,” she acknowledged. “I didn’t know that I needed it. And you know what? My first step with the walker, this is my new best friend.”

“I’m just gliding along. So, that’s what happened to me. I’m told that it comes out of nowhere.”

“I’ve turned into this little old Black lady. It’s really strange,” Whoopi laughed from her home, where she’s been filming the show since March,

Whoopi Goldberg has shown support for Democratic lawmakers and has been highly criticial of some Republicans, especially Donald Trump.

The commentator in November 2020 accused Trump of staging a “coup” and claimed he was behaving like a “dictator” when he refused to admit defeat following the presidential election.

“This is what dictators do when they want to take a country away from its people,” Whoopi said.

“Somebody better step up before you suddenly turn around and they have taken the country!”

Her comments came two months before Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, leaving at least five people dead.
