Claudia Winkleman reckons she looks like Meatloaf naked – and she’s totally fine with that.
The Strictly Come Dancing host is set to turn 50 in January 2022, and while many a celeb would freak out over the milestone, Claudia ‘can’t wait to get old’.
In fact, she thinks she’s essentially been a gran all along.
Speaking to woman&home, the presenter said: ‘I can’t wait to be 50. I wanted a crochet set for my 21st. I can’t wait to get old!
‘I didn’t like my 20s, I’d be the one in a nightclub going, “Guys, I’m not sure this is safe.” I like bridge, I like a heavy-tog duvet, I love a roast and reading books.
‘This is my time. My body is falling apart, I look like Meatloaf naked and I’m alright with that!’

While the 49-year-old thinks her body is failing her, her style most certainly will not change as she enters her fifth decade.
Claudia is known for her heavy fringe and love of eyeliner and fake tan, and she believes the latter is what defines her.
She told the magazine: ‘I only get jobs because I’ve got a fringe. So when they can’t remember my name they go, “Oh yeah, get that orange one with the fringe.”’
‘The orange one with the fringe’ looks typically fabulous on the cover of woman&home, sporting crisp shirts and a houndstooth blazer for the shoot.
And of course, the fringe, eyeliner and tan feature heavily.

Speaking last month with the Woman’s Health Going for Goal podcast, Claudia joked that her style inspirations are more mosh pit than red carpet, saying: ‘I want to look like Gene Simmons or Alice Cooper, so it’s not like I want to look young and bouncy and fresh.’
Saying that she has a ‘love affair’ with tan, she explained: ‘There was a product called Ultra Glow and it was a pat of just brown, just like a solid piece of something that could make you teak.
‘My mum used it and I’ve always forever been in love with, I think it’s Guerlain, it’s called Terracotta, it’s an unbelievable product, the powder.

‘I just put some on my face and suddenly felt – it’s a big word but I’m going to say it – alive. That was it, that was my love affair.’
Claudia is currently the host of Saturday mornings on Radio 2, replacing Graham Norton who departed the station in November, and will be back on our screens later this year hosting Strictly with Tess Daly.
While the hosts remain the same, there’s a tweak on the judging panel as Anton Du Beke replaces Bruno Tonioli, who cannot make the shows due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Elsewhere, professional dancer Janette Manrara is taking over from Zoe Ball on It Takes Two.
