Comedian Andy Dick was arrested for assaulting someone with a deadly weapon in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department told US Weekly that the 55-year-old star was taken into custody on Saturday in Hollywood.

He was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon, before being released from jail on Tuesday after posting the $50,000 (£36k) bond.

The actor’s friend Elisa Jordana went on to confirm the attack on Tuesday as she spoke about the incident on her YouTube show, Kermit and Friends.

The 33-year-old alleged that Dick ‘assaulted his lover Lucas with metal chair’.

Speaking about the victim’s injuries, who was reportedly taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital, Jordana claimed: ‘[Dick] could have killed him. I saw pictures, I saw video; it’s not good.’

Andy has an adult son named Lucas but Jordana (born Elisa Ann Schwartz) called the man Andy allegedly hit with the chair was his ‘lover’ – it is unclear who he is, as she did not give a last name.

The report comes after Dick was sentenced to 14 days in jail for sexual battery in 2019, after allegedly squeezing a woman’s butt. He was released after one night of serving time due to overcrowding.

The Dancing With The Stars alum previously made headlines in Hollywood for his alleged inappropriate actions on set in 2017.

Dick was fired from the film Raising Buchanan after he was accused of sexual harassment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor allegedly groped people’s genitals, kissed and licked people’s cheek, and made sexual proposals to at least four members of the movie’s production team.
