Love Island 2021: Luxury villa ‘surrounded by colony of vultures’

It’s not only coupling up that the Love Island stars need to be wary of this year, as there is thought to be a colony of vultures nesting nearby the villa.

Which could finally give us the Love Island / David Attenborough collaboration of our dreams.

According to reports, local environmentalists in Majorca closed off a 500-acre area surrounding the Puig Major mountain to allow the birds of prey to thrive, with members of the public being asked to avoid them where possible.

‘Fortunately, even though they are huge beasts, they normally only feed on dead animal carcasses,’ an insider told the Mirror.

‘There are some suggestions they have been preying on small live animals in the mountains, but the Islanders won’t be in any danger from them.

‘But any twitchers among them might be lucky enough to see these beautiful birds of prey circling above.’

It probably won’t be a great look if a huge glob of vulture poo lands on your head while you’re pulling someone for a chat – but on the other hand it’s known to be good luck…

And the contestants are clearly in need of that good luck after it was claimed that one Islander has already been cruelly dumped from the villa, just days into the show.

According to MailOnline, one girl has been sent home after bombshell contestant Chloe Burrows was tasked with coupling up with one of the boys.

This means that one of the original islanders, Kaz Kamwi, Faye Winter, Liberty Poole, Shannon Singh or Sharon Gaffka, will get the chop before they’ve even unpacked or sorted through all of their outfit options.

Tuesday night’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, as Chloe teased which boy she wanted to couple up with, stating: ‘When I first saw him, I thought he was absolutely gorgeous.

‘Even though we haven’t really spent any time together at all, the time that we did spend was just so fab.

‘The most important thing is you made me feel really comfortable which was my number one thing coming in.’

We’ll be seeing the fallout from her decision tonight…

Metro.co.uk has contacted ITV for a comment.

Love Island continues tonight, at 9pm, on ITV2.
