Sex/Life: Netflix viewers go wild over full-frontal shower scene as star Adam Remos addresses nudity
We have so many questions about Adam’s character Brad (Picture: Netflix)
It’s a perfect understatement to suggest social media users have well and truly lost it over one particular scene from Netflix hit Sex/Life which depicts full-frontal male nudity from main character Adam Demos.
The show is trending like anything on the platform, after premiering last week, and focuses on Billie (Sarah Shahi), a suburban mother-of-two who is feeling a lack of intimacy from husband Cooper (played by Mike Vogel). Soon she begins to fantasise about her ex Brad (played by Australian actor Adam). Whom she got a lot of intimacy from if you know what we mean.
In the third episode, which is causing all this mayhem, Cooper and Brad are seen showering at the same gym (after an increasingly obsessive Cooper follows Brad there), with the camera cutting to Brad’s, er, how do we say this delicately, very large penis.
It’s like that moment in the Sex And The City movie where Samantha sees her neighbour Dante’s nethers as he has a shower post-surf. It’s a quick moment on TV but has clearly forged a very strong place in the hearts and minds of viewers who have reacted with dizzying displays of whimsy.
We’ve decided not to censor the moment here, but due to the size of the emoji we’re sure you have an understanding of what viewers were dealing with.
Fans were left both shaken and stirred as they reacted online, with one noting: ‘Wow they really showed EVERYTHING in that shower scene on episode 3 in Sex/Life. I’m shook.’

Another could see why Billie was reminiscing about her ex, as they wrote: ‘Sex/life episode 3 gym shower scene! Wasn’t expecting to see that! No wonder Billie can’t forget about him!’
Adam – who is now dating his co-star Sarah IRL – has addressed the scene after he was recently asked whether he requested a body double or if his on-screen penis is also his off-screen penis.
Did Adam Demos use a body double as Brad in Sex/Life?
That would be a resounding no.
On the topic of filming the scenes himself, told Entertainment Weekly of his comfort: ‘I was okay with it because you read the script and know what you’re getting yourself into from the start, so I don’t think you would sign on to a show after reading the scripts and then say no last minute.’
Adam added: ‘That doesn’t mean you can’t have discussions about comfort level, which they allowed us to have — and with the intimacy coordinator, so it felt a lot safer.’

For anyone who finds this level of nudity gratuitous, Adam insisted the scenes ‘are there for a reason, because they drive the story and the characters’.
Did Adam Demos use a prosthetic penis in Sex/Life?
That one is a little trickier to answer.
In an interview with Collider, series creator Stacy Rukeyser also kept shtum on whether or not Adam was packing a prosthetic, saying: ‘No. That’s not a body double. I mean, people usually ask is it real or is it a prosthetic? And I can tell you what Adam Demos says about it which is, a gentleman never tells. So, we are leaving that up to the viewer’s imagination.’
She doubled down on the notion of the full-frontal scene’s relevance, adding it ‘was not just for titillation’s sake,’ but to illustrate how ‘obsessed’ Cooper got with his wife’s ex that he was willing to stalk him…into the showers.

And, frankly, his disappointed face after seeing what Brad was packing has got to warn him away from future gym stalking.
