Hunt launched for man who sexually assaulted girl, 12, after grabbing her off road in Reading

POLICE a hunting a man who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl after grabbing her on a road.

The girl was approached by the suspect, who was wearing a camouflage face mask, on Tuesday afternoon in Caversham, Berkshire.

Cops said the offender touched her inappropriately over her clothing near the junction of Oakley Road and Kidmore Road around 4.20pm.

The girl then ran away after the sickening sex attack in broad daylight on the residential road.

Cops described the attacker as a Hispanic man aged around 20, and about 5ft 7in tall, or shorter.

He was wearing a camouflage face mask, a light grey hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

Police are appealing for witnesses or dash-cam footage as they launched an investigation into the assault.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Maggie Bruce, of Reading CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.


“I would also urge any motorists who were in the local area around the time of this incident to please check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured what happened or something that could help our investigation.
