Eamonn Holmes is continuing to give us the most wholesome tour of Ireland, as he bonded with a woman in Belfast over chips.

After getting stuck behind some cows in a traffic jam earlier this week, the This Morning host showed off his new pal, who he met outside a chippy.

Taking to Instagram, the 61-year-old shared a video of Belfast local Margaret, who came to the rescue during a meeting at Longs Fish and Chips.

Showing off her ‘beautiful car’, he began: ‘I’m here at the best fish and chip shop in Belfast, if not Ireland, and it’s Longs. Longs fish and chip shop.

‘I came to Longs and Margaret stopped me and started talking to me.

‘And the thing is, I said, “bye bye Margaret”, and she says, “Eamonn, Longs, the most beautiful fish and chip shop in Belfast, closes as half six.” She finds it funny but that was me without my tea.’

Margaret proved herself to be a generous legend, swooping to the rescue to solve Eamonn’s hunger issues – by donating her husband’s dinner.

‘Anyway, Margaret said to me, she wouldn’t let me go, she wouldn’t,’ the ITV star continued as his new best friend giggled beside him.

‘Stanley has lost his dinner because she wouldn’t let me go, because she gave me Stanley’s dinner.

‘Stanley’s fish and chips. God love you.’

We hope poor Stanley wasn’t watching this…

Alongside the clip, which was also shared on his Instagram story, he penned: ‘Would u love a total stranger enough to give them your fish & chip tea on a Friday night?

‘Well Margaret just has .. well it wasn’t her tea it was her husband Stanley’s. Sorry Stanley but thank you Margaret [sic].’

Can we get an Eamonn Holmes-fronted travel show where he explores different chippies in Ireland?
