Guram Kutateladze Shares a Message After His Canceled Bout at UFC Fight Night

Don Madge was scheduled for a fight against Guram Kutateladze at UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Moises on July 17. This was the second time UFC tried to set up a lightweight contest between the two fighters. But lightning struck twice for the promotion as Guram Kutateladze has again pulled off due to an injury and an ongoing visa issue. ‘Georgian Viking’ announced the bad news on his social media account.

Kutateladze writes “My upcoming fight is postponed /cancelled for the second time. It is very unfortunate. Cause of different several reasons, injury and US visa issues. But as I understand, that’s the barriers I have to go through and that’s my path. Apologies to my opponent, to the @ufc and @seanshelby . Thanks to my team, family and true supporters.”

Previously Kutateladz and Don Madge were booked to fight at UFC Fight Night on March 13. But a few days before the fight Kutateladz had to go through knee surgery after he suffered a torn left meniscus. UFC couldn’t find an opponent for the South African as the fight got scrapped.

Guram Kutateladze the third blow for UFC Fight Night on July 17

This came in as the third straight blow for the Fight Night Card after Herbert Burns and Amir Albazi. Herbert Burns was about to meet Billy Quarantillo in the 145 lbs showdown but Burns suffered a torn ACL, forcing him to step out of the fight. But good news arrived early as Gabriel Benitez stepped up as a replacement fighter and now will fight Billy Quarantillo.

The second blow came as Amir Albazi was about to battle Ode Osbourne in a flyweight contest. Osbourne was all set to make his UFC flyweight debut but his opponent Albazi pulled off, leaving Ode Osbourne opponent less.
