Irish Open 2021: Complete Breakdown of the Prize Money From Winner to Last-Place

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open 2021 is currently underway. Mount Juliet Estate Thomastown Ireland is hosting this European tour event. Many golf players around the world are competing for the trophy, including World No.10 Rory McIlroy. So here’s everything that you need to know about the total purse, and winner’s prize money for the tournament.

The Irish Open is one of those events which is looked at as a preparation for the original major, The Open Championship. But in saying so, it is also one of the most important tournaments on the European Tour. Last year John Catlin became the first American to win the Irish Open in the previous two decades.

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open is the 18th event for the season while first in Ireland. This year the tournament has special attention since players like Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and Shane Lowry are in the field. McIlroy has returned to his home country after a long time. He is back on the European Tour for the first time since 2019.

The total prize money for the 2021 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open is €3,000,000. And it is the standard 16.67 percent payout according to the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart. The entire field is competing to get the highest share from the total purse of 3 Million Euros.

Winner’s payout for the Irish Open 2021

Just like every event, the winner will get the highest share of the total purse. So here’s how the distribution will work. The winner will get €500,000 from the total purse of 3 million euros. Apart from monetary benefits, the winner will also get 28 OWGR points, including a two-season exemption for the European Tour and 710 Race To Dubai Points.

This is a tremendous deal, especially for players who still aren’t part of the PGA Tour. And these extra benefits apart from the prize money will motivate players to be at their best.
