Is Toto Wolff Taking an Indirect Dig at Red Bull F1 With ‘Secret Vans’ Remark?

The title fight between Mercedes and Red Bull has not been this intense for a long time. And since then the Milton-Keynes-based outfit has been developing their car by getting parts delivered to them in trucks in Austria, to further increase the chances of winning.

The team principal of Mercedes, Toto Wolff might have thrown some dirt at rivals Red Bull stating, they haven’t been getting any parts delivered to them, unlike the Raging Bulls.

As quoted from Motorsport.total.com, being asked about their upgrades. Wolff replied, “You are quoting me incorrectly. I never said that we would not bring any more upgrades,” he emphasizes. “I said we would stop development for 2021 to focus on 2022.”

But we’ll be finished soon. There are no secret vans that are transported anywhere,” Wolff concluded.

The Silver Arrows have kept a close eye on title rivals

The Milton-Keynes-based squad currently lead the championship with 252 points under their belt, while the squad from Brackley have 212. Wolff & Co know they need to bring their A-game to future Grand Prixs if they want to regain the lead in the title race.

However, they have a keen interest in their rivals and want to know what are they doing right. And in Spielberg, they have seemed to observers a key detail, as they saw trucks of Red Bull pulling to up to the track with new parts to further develop their car.

However, the Silver Arrows have another problem at their hand this weekend, as they didn’t manage to crack the front row. Hence, Lewis Hamilton will start the Austrian Grand Prix in fourth place while teammate, Valtteri Bottas is behind him in the fight place.

Both Hamilton and Bottas know they need to step up and bring crucial points for their team, as they would like to bridge the gap to Red Bull this season,
