Can The Rock Win the Coveted Title of Mr. Olympia?

Over the years, we’ve seen some incredible specimen win the Mr. Olympia title. From Arnold Schwarzenegger to Lou Ferrigno, some of the biggest names in Hollywood have also clinched the title. However, does former WWE Champion and Hollywood actor The Rock stand a chance in this competition?

Is The Rock a future Mr. Olympia?

One can’t argue about the fact that The Rock is one of the fittest men in the world. Not only does he maintain his physique for his various roles in Hollywood, but his public image is that of an absolute alpha male. To become the ultimate alpha male, The Rock has climbed the ladders of success in every field except one: bodybuilding.

The Rock may not be a traditional body builder, but like Arnold Schwarzenegger, his godlike physique brought him Hollywood success. Because of this, a ton of rumours circulate about whether he’s actually pursuing a career in bodybuilding. Well, breaking no fans hearts, The Rock is as far away from the Mr. Olympia title than CM Punk is to a WWE return.

Despite his strict diet and the Iron Paradise traveling gym, Dwayne Johnson cannot possibly win the Mr. Olympia title for a variety of reasons. First, he’s almost 50. The average age of Mr. Olympia participants is 34, and the oldest Mr. Olympia was Shawn Rhoden at 43. Standing at over 6’4, the People’s Champion is too tall to become a successful bodybuilder too.

The Rock is a genetic freak and a monster of a man, but he just won’t cut it in bodybuilding. However, the former WWE Champion has branched into the bodybuilding world by winning Mr. Olympia’s Man of the Century award.

Dwayne Johnson partnered with Mr. Olympia in 2017

The Rock’s affiliation with bodybuilding began when Seven Bucks Production formed a long-term partnership with Mr. Olympia. Johnson and his partner/ex-wife/former female bodybuilder had a keen personal interest in the field.

In a press release after the announcement of the partnership, The Rock commented on its goal. “We have a great respect for the determination, drive and work ethic that is necessary to succeed in this sport and we are excited to share the bodybuilding community with the world.”

With this partnership, he extends his reach into a unique sport that doesn’t receive global attention. Fortunately, bodybuilding is on the rise once again and Dwayne The Rock Johnson might be at the center of it.
