Another magnificent Grand Prix culminated with Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas, and Lando Norris spraying champagne on stage. Norris had an impressive race, starting P2 and ending with a P3 despite having a 5-second penalty. It was a race to remember for the young Brit.
During a post-race interview, Lando was congratulated by his compatriot. As Russell shook Norris’s hand, he taunted him saying, “It’s sweaty”. Norris, being the witty driver he is, was quick to reply. “It’s champagne. I don’t sweat.”
The hilarious exchange only highlights the relationship the two share-having been competitors for a long time.

The battle of the Brits
Russell and Norris were both initiated into F1 during the 2019 season; however, they go way back to their carting days. Having grown up in the sport together, the two have built a rapport off the track. The two talented young drivers, and streamers, have a lot in common. That, however, also makes for an enticing riva;ry on track in the future.
George Russell has managed to out-qualify his teammates in his two seasons with Williams; however, he is yet to score points for the team. Norris, on the other hand, has become McLaren’s rising star. He has pulled the team to the top of the constructor’s championship and is the only driver to score points in every race this season.
This is not to say Russell hasn’t been doing a brilliant job. He has taken the Williams places no one expected- including the Q3 last Saturday in Austria. He had made his mark as a driver when he subbed for Hamilton in last season’s race in Sakhir.
The two show great support for each other both on and off track. They usually filled their social media platforms and streams with jokes and encouragement for each other.
Congrats to @LandoNorris too, awesome lap! You’re on fire right now mate.

The two show great promise as the next generation of drivers in the sport. If Russell gets a seat in the right car, he would inevitably be a great competition for the Papaya driver, as they both have championship potential within them. Maybe even something Vetsel-Hamilton -esque in the future?
