Upcoming Star Wars series Andor, which is set to be released on Disney Plus, is said to have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak after two crew members tested positive, resulting in entire departments being placed in isolation.
Andor will see Diego Luna reprise his role as Cassian Andor, a member of the Rebel Alliance who was first introduced in the 2016 film Rogue One.
The prequel series, set five years before Rogue One, will also star Stellan Skarsgard and Fiona Shaw, with Genevieve O’Reilly returning as Mon Mothma and Forest Whitaker as militant leader Saw Gerrera amid rumours that Ewan McGregor may appear as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Filming for the show, which Diego is also executive producing, is taking place in locations around England and Scotland, including at Pinewood Studios in London.
However, it’s been reported that around 24 members of staff on the production are currently isolating after a couple of people tested positive for coronavirus.
According to The Sun, there were two confirmed cases of Covid-19, with others experiencing symptoms.

The report claims that two filming departments consisting of more than eight people in each have been told to isolate.
A source reportedly said that ‘complete departments have been completely pulled off of the job and are isolating’.
‘The whole Covid situation on this job is out of hand – it’s spreading and they can’t get on top of it but they won’t shut down,’ they said.
‘Some crew are fearful of putting the lives of their loved ones at risk,’ they added, amid a ‘fear’ that there’s ‘a matter of time before the whole crew is confirmed to have it’.
The events of Rogue One, which starred Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, were set before the first Star Wars film A New Hope, with the film ending with a special appearance from Princess Leia.
