“I Don’t F**king Care”: Wolff Reveals Bottas’ Reaction to Hamilton’s Mercedes F1 Deal
Lewis Hamilton put pen to paper to a new deal with Mercedes, that would see him on the grid till the end of the 2023 season. On the other hand, his teammate, Valtteri Bottas has his deal expiring at the end of the season and is yet to sign a new one.
When he was asked by the Brackley-based squad, if it was okay to announce, Lewis’s new deal that Austrian Grand Prix; Bottas gave an answer which was suited to his no-nonsense personality.
Valtteri Bottas didn’t seem to care about when they announced his teammate’s new deal
The seven-times world champion agreed to a two-year contract extension, which would mean he would play a crucial part in how Mercedes transit into next season when the new regulations are set in place.
The Finn, whose future holds an uncertainty didn’t have much to say about the new deal signed by Hamilton. Team principal, Toto Wolff was asked about how Valtteri reacted to the news.
Wolff stated that Valtteri said, “Well I don’t f*****g care.”

The second Mercedes seat is up for grabs
With one of the drivers being secured for the next two years, the seven-times constructor’s champion must shift their attention on who will drive alongside Hamilton next season.
Bottas has his contract running out at the end of the season and is yet to be offered a new deal. Meanwhile, down at Williams, George Russell is also another candidate to drive for the Silver Arrows, being part of the Mercedes junior driver program, surely makes him one of the favorites.

In fact, Russell also has his contract expiring at end of the season with the Grove-based team and certainly has his eyes on that season seat.
However, Wolff & Co. are yet to announce who will they bring in for the 2022 season, will they continue with Valtteri or will they bring in new blood in the form of Russell.
