Shakur Stevenson Opens Up on Why the Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford Fight Isn’t Happening

The welterweight division of boxing has some of the biggest names in the fight world. But Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are the two biggest talents in the division. Both of them have retained their immaculate boxing stints and have crucified all of their opponents with ease.

For many years, the boxing pundits have wished to see Spence Jr. and Crawford battle each other out once for all. However, the fans have been unfortunate because this matchup has never come to life.

Not only the fans, but young boxers like Shakur Stevenson are themselves ecstatic to see this bout unfold. Recently, Stevenson took it to Twitter to share his notions on why this fight isn’t taking place.

He wrote, “Bud and EJ is 2 dogs no lie they 2 of da best fighters in our sport I learn a lot from both no cap.. This political sh*t need to stop cause I can’t wait to see them fight.”

Now, ‘The Truth’ is aligned to face the Filippino boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao, for his next boxing outing. The duo will collide on August 21 for Spence Jr.’s welterweight titles. On the other hand, ‘Bud’, who is unaligned against anyone, is in search of a rugged challenger to make his return.

Will Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford finally enter the ring against each other in 2021?

If Spence Jr. gets past ‘Pacman’ in his next fight, then he’ll be open to square off against anyone from the division.

That said, this might just be the right time for the Spence Jr. vs Crawford matchup to finally take place as promoters and fans may not want to see a potential fight between two elites in their prime just slip away.

As Stevenson said, the “political” turmoil will always threaten to play spoilsport. Hence, both sets of promoters will have a job on their hands to seek a fight between this duo.
