Britney Spears reportedly believes her doctors have failed her and wants her conservatorship to be  ended without a mental health evaluation.

The singer, 39, has been under the rule since 2008, which usually requires an assessment to determine a person’s capacity before it can be revoked.

Following her powerful testimony in court, a source told People: ‘She doesn’t have much trust for the doctors that she has worked with so far. She feels like they have failed her.’

Britney also asked the court for the power to choose her own legal representation after havinf had court-appointed counsel for the past 13 years.

In documents obtained by People, it reads: ‘This Petition for the Appointment of a Guardian ad Litem arises from the fact that the Conservatee, Ms. Spears, wants to select her own attorney, does not want one appointed solely by this Court, and does not want to undergo any additional evaluations to determine her capacity.’

It continues: ‘After 13 years of court-appointed counsel, she wants to select her own counsel. At the hearing on June 23, 2021, Ms. Spears addressed the Court and repeatedly expressed her desire to select her own counsel, without an additional medical evaluation.’

The documents add that Britney ‘repeatedly raised’ the fact she doesn’t want any medical testing during her testimony, as she asked the judge to end her conservatorship and give her control over her financial and personal decisions once more.

The Toxic singer had given an impassioned 23-minute speech to the court in which she detailed the rules and restrictions she had been forced to live under, including claiming she was made to have an IUD fitted in order to stop her having more children with boyfriend Sam Asghari.

Britney, who has asked for her father Jamie Spears to be removed as conservator, also told the court that she was not previously aware that she could petition for the end of the conservatorship entirely.

She told the judge: ‘I want changes and I want changes going forward. I deserve changes. I was told I have to sit down and be evaluated, again, if I want to end the conservatorship. Ma’am, I didn’t know I could petition the conservatorship to end it.

‘I’m sorry for my ignorance, but I honestly didn’t know that. But honestly, but I don’t think I owe anyone to be evaluated. I’ve done more than enough.

‘I don’t feel like I should even be in room with anyone to offend me by trying to question my capacity of intelligence, whether I need to be in this stupid conservatorship or not. I’ve done more than enough.’

She added: ‘This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life, I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break.’

Britney’s court-appointed lawyer, Sam Ingham, resigned on Tuesday, one day after her long-time manager Larry Rudolph also resigned, stating he was no longer needed.

The next hearing in Britney’s conservatorship case will take place on July 14, where lawyers for Jamie and the conservatorship team will argue that the rule should remain in place for the singer.
