ITV has apologised to fuming football fans due to Apple TV crashing during last night’s Euro 2020 England and Denmark game.
Last night England booked their place in the final against Italy after beating Denmark 2-1 at Wembley in extra time.
This is the first time that the Three Lions have reached the final of a major international competition since their World Cup triumph in 1966.
Sadly another layer of stress was added to last night’s tense game for some viewers, as those who were watching on Apple TV faced frustrating technical issues.
Football fans complained that the stream constantly crashed and they were bombarded with a bevvy of ads.
Taking to Twitter, ITV shared a statement: ‘Unfortunately we’re experiencing issues with Apple TV – please bear with us while we fix this. Apologies for any inconvenience.’

Fans had already taken to Twitter to share their disappointment, and the apology didn’t seem to do much to put out the fire.
Many viewers were left raging at the poor quality of the streaming service, and they also shared their thoughts on ITV’s apology.
‘What a complete shambles, ITV should not be allowed the rights to these major comps when their tech is clearly not up to the job,’ one person wrote.
‘This is unforgivable. And forcing us to watch ads before reconnecting, only to drop out again in seconds? Criminal,’ said another.
Another added: ‘You shouldn’t be given the rights to broadcast important events. The least you could do is disable the adverts when your system crashes.’
Despite the anger ITV users were dealing with at home, England supporters flooded the streets, throwing beer in the air and chanting ‘it’s coming home’ in celebration of the victory.

The England team is now set to take on Italy in the Euros on Sunday in the first tournament final they’ve reached in 55 years.
Hundreds of fans blocked off traffic in Trafalgar Square after the final whistle, setting off red flares in celebration.
They also sang ‘Sweet Caroline’ and, in a tribute to England’s manager, chanted ‘Southgate you’re the one’ and ‘Don’t take me home’ as they partied the night away.
