Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will finally settle their bittersweet rivalry on July 10th. ‘The Notorious’ one suffered his first-ever knockout loss at UFC 257 and the duo is now back to settle their 1-1 series tie.

Both fighters have now weighed in at 156 lbs; fans are now a step closer to witnessing the biggest pay-per-view event in UFC’s history.

Every Conor McGregor fight generates a big payday for the UFC. Dana White revealed that UFC 264 is now on track to rack up the biggest pay-per-view revenue yet. He added that this event has recorded higher pre-buys than any other event in the UFC.

White credited this PPV success to the perfect matchup between two of the best in the UFC lightweight division. He also acknowledged that Conor McGregor’s popularity played a critical role in the build-up of this fight.

The official purses for UFC 264 won’t be available until after the event. However, looking at UFC 257 reported payouts can give a sense of what the fighters can earn this time around.

After a sensational second-round stoppage, Dustin Poirier earned around $830,000 ($750,000 to show, $50,000 ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus, $30,000 sponsorship bonus).

Whereas, ‘the Notorious’ closed with a $3.04 million payout ($3 million to show, $40,000 sponsorship bonus).

The build-up for this trilogy fight will lead up to a bigger payday for all fighters on the UFC 264 card. Dustin Poirier even acknowledged that he will earn “five to ten” times more than what he would have earned against Charles Oliveira.

This Saturday, fighters like Sean O’Malley, Stephen Thompson, Gilbert Burns, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor will all fight on the same card.
