OFFICIAL: Team USA’s Promising Roster for Tokyo Olympics 2021

While the US swimming Trials have ended, the Tokyo Olympics 2021 is set to showcase some of the best swimmers from the USA. Caeleb Dressel, Katie Ledecky, and Ryan Murphy are some of the household names in this year’s squad.

Swimming competitions have drawn attention from the crowd in every Olympic event, to date. But this year’s Olympics won’t have Michael Phelps in the lineups as his retirement paves the way for other talented swimmers.

As a result, the US swimming team selected 11 teenagers to give fresh impetus to the squad. Fans expect the US national swimming team to dominate the swimming events in the Olympics.

Caeleb Dressel leads the US contention for Tokyo Olympics 2021

With Phelps’ retired, Dressel is the key man for this year’s Olympics. The swimmer is aiming to win seven gold medals and equal Mark Spitz’s record in the Olympics.

He is competing in three individual events- 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle, and the 100-meter butterfly event. In addition, Dressel competes in four relay events boosting his chances to win gold medals.

Along with Dressel, Ryan Murphy’s backstroke event won’t be a straightforward task this time around. Evgeny Rylov’s rise to the top has cast doubts on whether Murphy would keep the title as the world’s best backstroke swimmer.

Chase Kalisz’s performances in the individual medley will be important as he looks to dethrone Daiya Seto.

The golden girl is back in Tokyo Olympics

While Dressel will dominate the men’s events, Katie Ledecky hopes to create history in Tokyo. It’s been nine years since Ledecky shocked the world in London by winning the gold medal in the 800-meter freestyle event.

Despite Titmus proving to be an able challenger, the odds are in favor of Ledecky, for sweeping the freestyle events.

Regan Smith’s dominance in the backstroke events will resume. Similarly, Simone Manuel hopes to win in the 100-meter freestyle event.

Even though she failed to qualify for the 50-meter freestyle event. Notably, Manuel was reported to have over-training syndrome and suffered from depression which leads to her disjointed performances.

As far as the relay events are concerned, the US expects to dominate the events because of the talented swimmers amongst their ranks.

However, many swimmers look to make their mark in the Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics is back after a 5-year break and looks to be a smashing event.
