While the Tokyo Olympics 2021 is all set to start, the athletes are getting ready to showcase their talents. Fans expect the US swimming team to dominate the events in Japan. The women’s swimming events are expected to be dominated by Katie Ledecky.
There are many talented swimmers taking part in the Olympics this time around. Ariarne Titmus, Sarah Sjostrom, Cate Campbell lead the pack for talented swimmers in the event. As the games are set to begin, we look at the predictions, for women’s events in the Olympics.

Predictions for women’s events in Tokyo Olympics 2021
50-meter freestyle: Sarah Sjostrom
Sarah Sjostrom can win the event this time around. While Simone Manuel couldn’t qualify for the event, Cate Campbell becomes the next main challenger in the event.
However, Sarah is the fastest swimmer in the world. Even though she had an elbow injury, Sarah’s dominance in the event can’t be underestimated.
100-meter freestyle event: Simone Manuel
Despite not qualifying for the 50-meter freestyle, Manuel looks set to win the event. The 100-meter freestyle event will be the most-watched event this time around. With Sarah Sjostrom, Cate Campbell, and Simone Manuel, the race will be a tight affair for these swimmers.

200-meter freestyle and 400-meter freestyle: Ariarne Titmus
The biggest shock in the 400-meter freestyle event was Ariarne Titmus emerging victorious against Katie Ledecky. The Australian swimmer finished second ahead of Ledecky shocking the crowd with a tremendous performance.
Even though Federica Pellegrini won the 200-meter freestyle, Titmus looks to win these two events in Tokyo.
Katie Ledecky looks set to dominate in the Tokyo Olympics
800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle event: Katie Ledecky
The Olympic champion, Katie Ledecky, is expected to dominate the 800 and 1500 freestyle events in Tokyo. The Washington-based swimmer is one of the best swimmers around by winning 34 medals.
She is the best swimmer in the world right now and will be the second favorite to win the 200 and 400-meter freestyle events as well.

100-meter and 200-meter backstroke event: Regan Smith
The backstroke events are a specialty in swimming as Regan Smith winning the event is automatic. Being the current world record holder in the 200-meter backstroke, Regan looks set to dominate the event, yet again. However, Kylie Masse proves to be an able challenger for the title.
100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke event: Yuliya Yefimova
Despite Lily King dominating this event for a long time, the Russian swimmer Yuliya Yefimova looks to take home the grand prize. She won the 200-meter breaststroke event in the World Championships in Gwangju.
100-meter and 200-meter butterfly event: Maggie MacNeal & Hali Flickinger
Canadian swimmer Maggie MacNeal is the hands-down favorite to win the 100-meter butterfly event in Tokyo. The swimmer won the event in South Korea, while Hali Flickinger looks set to win the 200-meter butterfly event. Despite finishing second in Gwangju, Flickinger is the favorite to win the title.
200-meter and 400-meter individual medley: Katinka Hosszu
The individual medley comprises freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly in what is a unique event. To sum up, Katinka Hosszu is the favorite to win the event in Tokyo. Nicknamed the Iron Lady, Hosszu is everyone’s favorite to win the event in Tokyo.
Moreover, the relay events will be a two-way battle against team USA and Australia. Likewise, the women’s swimming events are expected to thrill fans all over the world.
Notably, the Japanese government announced holding these events behind closed doors. But, the competitive spirit will remain, and the swimmers look to showcase their talents in Tokyo.
