Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul were all set to collide on August 28 on SHOWTIME. However, the fight will now happen on August 29, per reports. The exact reason behind this 24-hr delay hasn’t been revealed.

Reporter Dan Rafael broke the news via social media. According to his tweet, SHOWTIME will organize an official press conference in L.A. this Tuesday to address the scenario. Meanwhile, it seems final that Paul and Woodley will now fight on a Sunday night.

As Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 has been shifted from July 24, Manny Pacquiao’s return against Errol Spence Jr. will be the next big event on August 21. Eight days later, Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul will lock horns in another intriguing event. That said, this particular one-day delay may be a PPV-earning or commercial trick.

On August 29, Jake Paul will enter the toughest test of his combat career. Meanwhile, Woodley will seek his highest fight purse in what many feel will be his easiest fight on paper. The former UFC 170 lbs champion is way ahead of Jake Paul in the professional combat world. However, these statistics may only look valid on paper as ‘The Chosen One’ doesn’t have the pro-boxing experience that Jake Paul does.

Despite criticism, Paul has won his last 3 fights. Although Woodley will be way more treacherous than any of his past rivals, Jake Paul can still land an upset.

Tyron Woodley vs Jake Paul- The absolute mismatch

Paul (24), who is 3-0 in the boxing world, hasn’t faced any professional pugilists so far. After beating a fellow YouTuber and a retired NBA player in the ring, Jake Paul vanquished ex-MMA world champion, Ben Askren, in his last appearance. Though the first-round KO was sensational, the fact remains that it came against a reputed wrestler with almost no striking accolades. Hence, Jake Paul might have to do much more to become an A-listed boxer.

Meanwhile, Tyron Woodley (39) split ways with the UFC after losing four fights in a row. In the eyes of combat observers, he might have passed his prime. However, his experience combined with his ability to hit haymakers will see him present an enormous problem to Jake Paul.

In a reverse situation, if Woodley loses to the YouTuber, it can end his combat career on a scratchy note.
