WATCH: Treat for Eyes and Ears as Lando Norris Revs Ayrton Senna’s McLaren F1 Before Launch

Inarguably, Ayrton Senna is a legend in Formula One and the idol for several people competing in the pinnacle of motorsports. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Lando Norris got a chance to drive the MP4/5B. And needless to say, the Briton must have been over the moon to get his hands on the Brazilian’s car.

Naturally, the sound of the screaming V10 engine would have been music to any F1 fan’s ears. Norris got the full blast, and he loved it. As he drove the car up the hill, he waved to all the fans who were in attendance. As a McLaren driver, the young Briton would have been honoured to step into Senna’s championship-winning car.

And interestingly, it almost seemed like Senna himself was in the car. This is because, even though it’s a different shade, Norris’ helmet is yellow, just like Senna’s.

Lando Norris is having a dream season in 2021

So far in the 2021 season, Lando Norris has made his wildest dreams coming true. The McLaren driver finds himself in a comfortable fourth in the championship. In addition to that, he has had three podiums under his belt, with the latest one at the Austrian Grand Prix.

That last one would have been extra special because he managed to best one of the GOATs, Lewis Hamilton. At the start of the race, he fended off the reigning seven-time world champion for several laps. Later on, he pulled off an incredible recovery drive after a penalty to fight his way back up to the Mercedes pair.

In the end, he managed to overtake Hamilton, whose car picked up some late damage. After dispatching the champion, he set about trying to hunt down the other Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas. Ultimately, he could not catch the Finn, but he came within a couple of seconds of him. Had the race continued for a few more laps, he could have definitely caught Bottas.
