What Kind of Weather to Expect for the 2021 British Grand Prix?

This weekend, the Formula One paddock visits the Silverstone Circuit for the British Grand Prix. Of course, since this is the United Kingdom, there is always a chance of rain. However, the forecast suggests that there will be sunny skies throughout the weekend.

It is worth mentioning that Friday will be mostly cloudy, while no rain is expected during the sprint race or during the actual race itself.

This race weekend is a hugely important one because it is a test to see if the sprint race format will work. Admittedly, it is a little poetic to see one of the oldest Formula One races make history once again.

Last year, Silverstone hosted the 70th anniversary Grand Prix, and now it will host the very first sprint race. Of course, there are two other tracks that will host sprint races, but Silverstone is the guinea pig.

What to expect from the 2021 British Grand Prix?

Heading into this race, Red Bull and Max Verstappen will be eager to continue their momentum. As a bonus, Verstappen gets to deny Lewis Hamilton from winning his home race, at a time when fans are being allowed back. However, the Mercedes team and Hamilton will want to put a stop to that and bounce back.

At the start of this season, many thought that Hamilton would romp away as usual. Unfortunately for him, things have not worked out as they should have.

On the bright side for Mercedes, they have always excelled at the British Grand Prix and they will be the favorites. That can only last as long as nothing too dramatic transpires.

Aside from Mercedes and Red Bull, there could be other contenders who could try to spring a surprise. Among them are McLaren and Lando Norris, who have been impressive this season. Even Scuderia Ferrari have looked like they cast away the demons of its poor previous seasons.
