James Blunt is reportedly set to front a new TV series trying to find the perfect pint.

The You’re Beautiful (or is that Booze-tiful?) singer owns his own pub called The Fox & Pheasant and certainly knows his beer, so it’s no surprise he’s in the running for the new programme which will pit small breweries from around the world against each other in a boozy competition.

An insider told The Sun: ‘James owns his own boozer, The Fox & Pheasant in London, and is a bit of a beer connoisseur.

‘The main premise of the series is going to be brewers showcasing some of the best small breweries in the world.

‘It won’t just be in the UK either — the idea is to try to get a number of competitors from across the globe signing up.’

Each of the breweries will compete to see who has the best beer and while James ‘will be front and centre’, he’ll have a panel of experts making the decisions.

The source added: ‘It is something totally different and a really fun concept that James wanted to get behind.

‘Everything is still in the early stages and casting for the judging panel and the breweries is starting this summer.’

The team behind the show are said to be ‘really excited’ about the fresh concept, but it’s thought the ‘more niche’ angle means it’ll probably find a home one a streaming platform.

The insider said: ‘It’s likely the show will end up on one of the streaming platforms like Amazon because it’s more niche.

‘Those working on the series are really excited. They think they’ve got something really special with this concept and know filming will be a blast.’

While most people know James for his musical talents or scathing social media putdowns, he’s got plenty of experience to help with the project.

He and his wife Sofia Wallesley bought The Fox & Pheasant in Chelsea three years ago, and have turned the pub from a run-down venue into a local favourite.
