DEAR DEIDRE: MY friends tell me that the guy I’m engaged to is using me but are they just jealous?
I’m 29 and my parents own a successful online clothing business. I work in their office doing their accounts.
My school friends met him recently and said he doesn’t seem serious about our relationship
My fiancé is a driver in our warehouse. He’s 31 and lovely. We are due to get married next year.
He doesn’t have a lot of money but it doesn’t bother me. We have fun together and he loves me.

DEIDRE SAYS: As your friends’ first introduction was at your engagement party, they hardly know him.
At the party you were probably less focused on one another and more on your guests.
If you’ve mentioned your financial differences to them, then they may be looking out for you.
But ask yourself – do you value these friends and do you respect their opinions?
Their comments have made you question his sincerity, though, so don’t rush into walking down the aisle, until you are sure.
