As a kid, I would have done anything to send next to this car: Daniel Ricciardo

The McLaren driver was brimming with excitement as he got the opportunity to drive his first old McLaren car. He also mentioned it was his childhood dream to drive one of late Ayrton Senna‘s cars.

As a kid, I would have done anything to stand next to this car, let touch drive it, let alone drive it. So I’m happy cleaning this like I’ll clean it all day,” said Ricciardo.

Ricciardo explains how F1 cars have evolved after driving Senna’s car

Formula One cars have evolved a lot over the years. The current generation of cars are safer, faster, and more technologically advanced than the older generation. There are some noticeable differences such as the open cockpit, the size of the cars, and the size of the tires.

As reported by GPfans, Daniel Ricciardo after driving the Mclaren MP4-5B pointed out some differences.

These days we don’t see…I can see the bottom of the tire here. I can see everything around me and in the current cars, we don’t even see the nose. We’re looking so far ahead.

Just everything of the whole driving experience is different, but it’s really cool. I expected it to be heavier but I could happily go on a Sunday drive in this.” said Ricciardo.
