Tom Meighan has married partner Vikki Ager in an intimate ceremony, a year after pleading guilty to assaulting her.

The former Kasabian frontman tied the knot with his new wife at Harborough Registry Office, in Leicester, surrounded by their family and closest friends.

In a statement confirming their nuptials, via his management team Coalition Music Alliance, it was said that the disgraced musician has ‘worked hard’ on himself and building his relationship back up with his bride.

‘We are pleased to share the news that on Tuesday the 13th July 2021, Tom Meighan and Vikki Ager were married at Market Harborough Registry Office, Leicester,’ it read.

‘It was an intimate affair, in accordance with the latest Covid-19 guidelines, with the couple becoming husband and wife surrounded by their children, family and a few close friends.

‘Tom has worked so hard on himself, his health, family unit and his relationship with Vikki over the past year.

‘They are very much in love and looking forward to sharing the rest of their lives together’.

Meighan announced his engagement to Vikki four years ago, following his split from Kim James.

Photos from the ceremony show Vikki smiling widely in a white gown and veil, beside the singer, who wore a striped navy and light grey blazer, a black shirt and tie for the day.

Last July, it emerged that Meighan had launched a drunken attack on his partner, who was left with bruising to her knees, left elbow, outer ankle and big toe, as well as a reddening around her neck.

In the court hearing, the jury heard that a child witnessed the assault, and called 999 for help.

The day before the court case took place, Kasabian announced the frontman would be stepping down in a short statement.

‘Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent,’ it read.

‘Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.

‘We will not be commenting further.’

Meighan later tweeted: ‘Following today’s announcement I just wanted to let you all know that I am doing well. I’m in a really good place now.

‘Thanks for all your love and support. I’ll be seeing you all very soon.’
